Nine fake Android apps from the Play Store has been downloaded 470,000 times disguised as a performance optimization tool. In fact, they have fraudulent access to your Google account and Facebook users. This is what is revealed by Trend Micro, a Japanese company that specializes in cybersecurity.
The company had published a post a report of malware targeting Android users from the Play Store. The strategy adopted here is quite damaging. The skin is actually malware in apps with names like “Speed ​​Clean” or “Super Clean”. In other words, the idea is to pretend to be a tool that is able to optimize the performance of your smartphone with the cleaning of certain redundant files.

Instead of carrying out this task, the application will actually go to download up to 3000 variants of malware on the infected smartphone and, thanks to this, they will be able to access Google and Facebook accounts of victims to fraudulent advertising practices. False cleaning tools will, among other things, display advertising platform like Google AdMob legitimate or Facebook Audience Network and then simulate a click on an ad.
