At this point, most of the general public should know how to use computers in the most basic of the situation. Turn. Open internet. Writing the document. Print something. If you wish to be somewhat successful or, at least, considered to be normal human beings function, computer knowledge is simply a must.


However, while it is possible to slide through success on the basics of a computer, may not be all that easy for you. You will struggle. You will waste more time than it should. And you will definitely feel the need to throw one or two computers out the window at some time or another.

So, if you're adamant about sticking to the basics and you do not feel the need to create 'addict' your second language, then here are a few tricks to make you more efficient on the ground computer. And if even you consider yourself to be on top of the basics or rather computer aficionado, some of these tips may be new and somewhat useful to you.

CTRL + BKSP
Pressing the backspace key to erase a few letters at a time is a waste of time. If you need to delete an entire word, hold down CTRL and Backspace simultaneously. To remove some of the words, down the CTRL key and continue to press the Backspace key until you have removed all of which needs to go.

ALT + TAB
If you use a laptop, this tip can be more useful. If you need to switch to another open window (say you have Word, internet, and Excel opens at the same time), then hold down the ALT and TAB. This will allow you to quickly cycle through the next open programs without having to look into that dreaded touchpad for assistance.

CTRL + W
When you have multiple sites open at once, you can close one at a time by pressing CTRL and W. This action will cause your current tab to close and will send it back to the next open tab - no magnifying glass and a small button 'X ' required.

CTRL + L
Again, if you are not willing to reach for your mouse, this trick is very useful. Hold down CTRL and L to highlight the address bar. You can immediately start typing to go to a new website.

shake
If you have several programs open and you do not like a lot of background noise, use the cursor to shake the current window. This will automatically minimize all other open programs, leaving you only with the program you want.

Windows + D
If you need all programs are minimized - including your current program - and press the Windows and D. This will take you back to the desktop.

CTRL + T
When you are on the internet and you need to open a new tab, hold down CTRL and T. This trick will get you there faster.

Windows + L
This is a great tip for anyone, anywhere to use. Every time you leave your computer, hit
CTRL and L to lock. Hopefully, you have some sort of a passcode to protect your device ... if not, shame on you.
